IT INITIATIVES
|
The Information Technology (IT)
initiatives and promoting of e-Governance
activities was begun in the District
Administration is from the inception of
National Informatics Centre (NIC),
collectorate, Nalanda, started functioning
from September 1988. During the Initial stage
the foremost responsibility of this NIC centre
was to create and spread of Informatics
culture among the District officials of the
District administration and in over all
Computerisation of different administrative
processes and procedures so that information
for decision making is readily available at
levels.
e-District project has
been initiated in three districts of the state on pilot basis in Nalanda,
Aurangabad and Madhubani. This ambitious project is expected to be completed by
Feb 2009. Under this scheme district, sub-divisions and block offices will be
computeised in such manner that information could be
given in efficient manner for public benefit through Vasudha- common service
centers. This project hinges on two other equally ambitious IT projects- Bihar
State Wide Area Network(BSWAN) and Vasudha- Common Services Centers.

Systems for Block/anchal
Offices • Certificates
through Block Information center (BIC)
BICs are established in
all the Blocks through outsourcing. BICs are helpful in issuing different
certificates to common people on regular basis.
Training
• Basic and advanced level Computer training given for
Revenue, Panchayat, Devlopment, Treasury, Registration, Health and
Transport Department staffs
